A Night at the Museum
When darkness falls, history awakens!
Join us for A Night at the Museum on Saturday, November 8. This is the final event in our anniversary program celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Saab Car Museum in 2025.
During A Night at the Museum , visitors will experience the museum in a new way. We’ll dim the regular lights and instead highlight the unique shapes of the cars with atmospheric lighting. In a relaxed and friendly setting, we’ll explore and discuss various Saab innovations related to the themes of ”light” and ”design”.
This evening we also take a closer look at the Saab NG 9-5 Sport Combi and let designer Simon Padian talk about the development of a timeless classic.
Food and drinks will be served inside the museum and are included in the pre-sale package, available via Tickster.
Don’t miss that SSK Reservdelar AB, the spare parts company of the Swedish Saab Club, will host an autumn market during the afternoon. Altogether, this Saturday promises to be a fantastic opportunity for Saab enthusiasts to reunite once again in Trollhättan.
A different kind of gathering for people who like cars and design
Welcome to an evening where light not only sets the mood inside the museum, but also presents the cars in the exhibition in a whole new way. Saab Car Museum invites you to a unique gathering where Saab’s automotive design takes center stage – brought to life through shadows, contrasts, and light. A special highlight of the evening will be seeing some of the museum’s concept cars illuminated and coming to life in this new setting.
Throughout the evening, we’ll enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and share conversations about our favorite topic Saab together with designer Simon Padian. The theme is “light” and “design” – as function, inspiration and brand identity.
In collaboration with our neighbors at Nova mat & möten we’ll also be offering delicious food and drinks during the event. In the pop-up bar, you’ll find beer from the local craft brewery Ruckel Brewingas well as selected wines and non-alcoholic options. Nova Mat & Möten will also be serving tasty and satisfying wraps.
Design Talk – Simon Padian
During A Night at the Museum we focus on Saab's design, and for that reason we have invited Saab's long-time designer Simon Padian. Simon joined Saab in 1989 and stayed with the company until its bankruptcy.
Simon Padian has worked with both interior and exterior design, served as Lead Designer at Saab Advanced Concept Center, and from 2005 held the position of Saab Brand Design Chief. During the final period, Simon was responsible for the design strategy in the development of the NG 9-5, while his team also worked on the company’s overall visual identity. This gives him a unique insight into Saab’s brand design and how it influenced the company’s entire image — including the design of its cars.
This evening we take a closer look at the Saab NG 9-5 SportCombi and let Simon share which details carry forward the design heritage from earlier models, and which design solutions looked toward the future.
What made Saab’s design unique? How did Saab’s designers work to give the cars a clear identity? How was Saab's design affected by being part of the global multi-brand GM environment, and how did the design strategy change when Saab became independent after the sale to Spyker? There are many interesting questions to raise on the topic, and we hope that the visitors will participate in the conversation and share their own thoughts and reflections.

During the day, the museum is open as usual 11:00–16:00.
Prices and pre-sale package
• Regular entrance fees apply during the evening event. Tickets purchased earlier on Saturday, November 8 are also valid for the evening program.
Pre-sale package: SEK 270 (+ service fee)
For the A Night at the Museum event, it is possible to book a pre-sale package at a favorable price via Tickster. The pre-sale package are available until 15:00 on Saturday, November 8th.
The package includes the following:
- Entrance to the museum
- Tasty wrap – choose between Chicken or Vegetarian
- Drink – a glass of wine / beer 33 cl / cider 33 cl or non-alcoholic alternative

Food and drinks
During the event A Night at the Museum, we are collaborating with the restaurant Nova mat och mötento offer food and drinks to our guests. Tasty wraps will be available for purchase, and at the bar you’ll find a selection of beers from the local brewery Ruckel Brewingas well as wine and non-alcoholic options.

Parking
• There is free parking in regular parking lots throughout the Innovatum District.
• As a visitor, you choose where in the parking lot you will park your car, subject to space.
• In the map of the Innovatum District you will find all parking lots in the area.
An Afternoon with SSK Reservdelar
On Saturday November 8, from 13:00 to 16:00, Svenska Saabklubben Reservdelar will host an autumn market at their warehouse in Stallbacka, Trollhättan. The theme of the day is “Interior & Trim”. Please note that some items may be large or bulky, so make sure to leave plenty of space in your vehicles!
